Our Story
For over 40 years EBCO Inc.’s (Environmental Balance Company) mission is to provide superior workmanship, reporting and proper balance to complex HVAC systems used in today’s commercial buildings.
The company started in the basement of Ralph Chinn’s house on a Ping-Pong table February 1978. The first job was at the Navy Base in Charleston South Carolina. The company’s first Lexington job was at the Horse Park Museum. IBM (now Lexmark) was our first Corporation that accepted EBCO as their only Test and Balance Vendor in the mid 80’s, and is still a customer today.
EBCO served as consultant to Humana and over a number of years traveled the country working with another of their consultants surveying Humana Hospitals for energy savings. An officer of EBCO has been TAB certified since 1985, and owner Keith Turner became a NEBB Certified Professional in 2008.
Since its founding in 1978 EBCO has provided test and balancing of air and hydronic systems for new construction of large commercial buildings, rebalancing of existing buildings, as well as, duct pressure testing, using the latest SMACNA & NEBB standards and procedures. EBCO also works with engineers, performing pre construction surveys and periodic surveys of medical rooms and laboratory fume hoods for building owners.
